During the 2nd-4th of July, 2025, SmåBUS will be hosting yet another International Children's and Young Adult Literature Conference in the heart of Småland, Sweden. This year's theme will be STORIES, THEIR CREATORS & THE MAGIC IN BETWEEN, yet SmåBUS' guiding focus remains on the production of and appreciation for high quality literature along with respect for our differences and individuality. 

SmåBUS is renowned for creating opportunities for collaboration, inspiration, and bringing together authors, illustrators, and book nerds young and old from various countries and backgrounds. It is the ideal space in which many new ideas and ultimately books are and have been conceived.

Be part of an inspiring cultural movement working in the spirit of Astrid Lindgren.

We've gone out of our way to procure a dreamlist of published authors and illustrators from all over Europe to lead this year's workshops and lectures. This includes Stina Wirsén, Kristof Devos, Anna Woltz, Emma Virke and Anete Melece to name a few.

While our main events will be held at the charming Sörangen campus in Nässjö, we'll also be visiting Astrid Lindgren's childhood home and museum, Näs.

Additionally, illustrators have the opportunity to participate in an international exhibition (Mio all over the world) at Näs for the summer.
